In a bizarre collaboration that challenges conventional expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Uncovered

According to the formal statement, "A mysterious encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous changes reverberate through the obscurity." The plot features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret cult.

The mission concentrates on "strange trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Bonus Features

Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Newest Free Story Update

This update also introduces the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
