Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Police report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then located many other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
City officials stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for information.
An important official stated the incident made him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.
"This event affects the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, referring to the murder of nine people by a shooter aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
