I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really happening.
